Friend and Society member, Rev. Peggy French, shared a talk - 'From John Knox to John Witherspoon - Presbyterianism in Progress'.

The presentation focused on how Knox’s disenchantment with the Roman Catholic church in Scotland led him to go to Geneva and seek out John Calvin; how Knox brought the Presbyterian way of church back to Scotland, and changed the cultured from a leadership down way of thinking to an independent way of thinking. It also touched on how the Presbyterian (representative) form of government influenced our own as we formed into a nation.
