Dinner and auction to benefit the Heritage Fund. More than 200 jars of peanut butter were donated to the Portland Avenue Community Trust and Jenny Dickson was presented with the Alex Rose Award for exceptional service to the Scottish Society of Louisville in 2014.

Society member, John Moffatt, shared a talk about Doggerland: The ancient landmass between Great Britain and mainland Europe.

John and Aidan Cowgill presented a talk on Haunted Houses in Scotland.

Society member, Dot Scott, and her guest, Barry Benefield, a golf pro from Crestview Hills Golf Course, .shared a fun and engaging talk about golf.

Dr. Glen Taul from The Ephraim McDowell House in Danville, Kentucky, spoke about Dr. McDowell’s medical training.

May 27

The speaker at our May meeting was Associate Professor of History, Doug Cantrell, from Elizabethtown Community and Technical College. Mr. Cantrell is a teacher,author and lecturer. His talk was titled “From The Borderlands To The Backwoods Scottish Immigrants To The Appalachian Highlands”.

Society member, Botanist and author, Pat Haragan gave a talk on Scottish Botany.

Society member Adam Dahmer shared a talk about the background of Scotland’s current road to independence and the implications.
